Viviva Watercolor review

So you have in the past year or so seen this (or at least I have) a videos of these portable watercolor sets on social media.  I was very interesting in getting a set so I pre-ordered one for myself as an early birthday present.

This unique item was part of an Indiegogo campaign, which is crowd funded for those unfamiliar with the site. It made well past the amount needed (564% to be exact). Because I was late to the pack I was somewhere in the 6000's in terms of my order. So my order wasn't going to arrive until November (I ordered in May, but this wasn't an issue, it is to be expected with such a high demand). Even though the initial campaign is closed, you can still order it here. The campaign owner was very polite and professional. Any slight snag or delay in order was immediately updated on the campaign page.

Got home for Thanksgiving and my Viviva Watercolor set arrived! I'll post a video later testing it out! □□

Well the set arrived and I was very pleased. THE PACKAGING IS EXTREMELY CUTE! The set I ordered was the sketcher set which includes the Colorsheets with sixteen colors in total and a water pen. There are multi-packs available as well as one that includes an engraved wooden case if you would like something fancier.

Underneath each color it gives you space to test out the color. This is good because some of the colors look different in the palette versus on paper. There is also an attachable sheet to place in the back of the booklet to mix colors. Each sheet is separated by a protective sheet to prevent mixing of the pressed colors.

.   These colors are very vibrant, almost florescent . I'm used to watercolors being more pastel versus this vibrant (I guess thats why "viva" is part of the title, for the lively colors). I don't know if this effects their lightfastness, but I don't see why you would have a watercolor outside or in direct sunlight. It doesn't take a lot to get a lot of color onto the paper because of the dense pigment, which is greatly appreciated. They are also transparent as advertised and as most watercolors are.

A typically set of watercolors (Artist Loft brand), much more muted and pastel like
These tested out very well (as seen in the Instagram video link). The only issue that occurred was when I was going back through and outlining my painting in pen and highlights with colored pencil. The magenta is so pigmented that it will leave a mark on your hands. This is just a warning. It does wash off easily it is just something to watch out for.

This is what the magenta pigment looks like. DON'T WORRY IT WASHES OFF EASILY!

Another view of my hands. I work small so that may be the reason my hands are covered

Overall I would highly recommend them! I'd give them an A! They are very beautiful and easy to work with! The water brush and small size makes them ideal to take on the go!
