>Bourbon-I'm originally from Bardstown, aka "The Bourbon Capital of the World".
>Post-Its- These are exclusively manufactured in Cynthiana, Kentucky.
>Light Bulbs-Thomas Edison lived in Louisville for about a year. Louisville was also where the largest display of electric light was demonstrated.
>Bite Sized-Kentucky is known for some tasty sweets these include but aren't limited to: Truffles, Buckeyes, Bourbon Balls (chocolate and cookie form), Blue Mondays, and Modjeskas.
>Pumpkins-Film director, John Carpenter grew up around Bowling Green. Names of places in his film Halloween (1978) were named after locations in the Bowling Green area (ex: Smith's Grove, Haddonfield).
>Guitars and Banjos- These instruments are meant to represent Bluegrass music, the state music style.
>Freshwater Pearls- These are the state gemstone.
>Bass fish-These are the State Fish.
> Bowie Knife- James Bowie, for whom the knife is named is from Kentucky. David Bowie in fact renamed himself after the 19th c. pioneer. The main reason I chose this subject was to make a David Bowie joke for the title.
>Duncan Hines-Duncan Hines was originally from Bowling Green.
>Dulcimer-The Mountain Dulcimer is the state instrument of Kentucky. I have also played it since the fourth grade.
>Wine-The first commercial winery and vineyard began in 1799 and still operates in what is now Richmond,KY
>Fried Chicken- I think it should be obvious. Colonel Sanders started Kentucky Fried Chicken in Corbin, KY in 1930.
>Reynold's Wrap-The Reynold's Wrap Metal Company was founded in Louisville in 1919.
>Derby- Kentucky is home to the Kentucky Derby. The Derby occurs every first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. The winning horse is awarded a blanket of roses. The Oaks is held the day before, where Fillies compete for a blanket of lillies. Both races are celebrated with elaborate hats and the consumption of Mint Juleps (Mint-flavoring or leaves, sugar, & bourbon).
>Cheeseburgers- Louisville is supposedly where the first cheeseburger was served.
>Ale-8-Ones- This citrus, ginger soft drink is manufactured in Winchester.
>Beer Cheese- The popular dip found in bars in the region was invented in Clark County, KY. In 2013 this birthplace was declared official by the Kentucky Legislature
>Bowling Balls- Ebonite International located in Hopkinsville,KY, is the largest distributor of bowling balls worldwide.
>Mentos-The Perfetti Van Melle candy company produces Mentos along with other confectionary in their U.S. factory. The factory is located in Erlanger, KY
>Disco Balls- Omega National Products out of Louisville, KY supplied over 90% of the United States's disco balls during the disco craze. It still continues today as a large supplier of the world's mirrored balls.
>Pennies (Abraham Lincoln)- Kentucky is the birthplace of the 16th president of the United States. He grew up near Hodgenville, KY in a log cabin. Hodgenville houses the cabin in the nation's first Lincoln Memorial at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park.
>Tiffany Engagement Rings- The prestigious jewelry store, Tiffany & Co. have various plants and corporate offices. The first plant outside the northeast was built in Lexington, KY in 2011
>Hot Pockets-The popular microwavable sandwich made by Nestle are produced in Mt. Sterling, KY. While production was once widespread, the company moved all production to the Mt. Sterling facility.
>Louisville Slugger Bats-The company is world renowned for it's high quality baseball bats.
>Zombies- The author of the comic book and co-creator of the popular show on AMC The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman originally hails from Cynthiana, KY
>Sprinkles- The "Happy Birthday Song" was written by two sisters from Kentucky.
>iPhones- The Gorilla Glass for the screens on iPhones and other smartphones is made in a factory in Harrodsburg, KY.
>Gold Bars- Fort Knox, KY is home to not only a U.S. Army Post but it is also the U.S. Bullion Depository. Also on the grounds, is the General George Patton Museum.
>Playing Cards-The United States Playing Card Company has their corporate offices in Erangler, Kentucky.
>Chewing Gum-Although people have chewed tree gum since ancient times, the first to introduce flavoring to chewing gum was a man from Louisville, KY. John Colgan, a pharmacist introduced "Taffy Talu" using the flavoring tolu, produced the gum in sticks and patented the way to cut the wrappers for chewing gum.
